Terms and Conditions
Effective October 30, 2026. These terms cover your use of Darteno, which Darteno Construction Inc. runs: online estimates, written quotes and contracts, your payment schedule, changes and cancellation, your warranty, your account, and how disputes are settled.
Your Online Estimate, Written Quote and Contract
- Your online estimate prices one service from your answers. It is a price for planning, not a final price or an offer to do the work.
- Your written quote states your full scope, materials and price. We issue it after your free onsite visit. It names the excavation depth, granular base, paver or block product, drainage parts, and grading included. A product named in your contract is the product installed.
- Your written quote lists what it excludes and what it assumes. Common exclusions are permit fees, utility locates beyond the standard ClickBeforeYouDig request, unexpected conditions under the ground such as buried debris or rock, and work by other trades such as gas or electrical lines for an outdoor kitchen. If the site differs from what we saw at your visit, we tell you in writing before going ahead.
- Your written quote holds for 30 days from the date it is issued. Material prices change with supply and season. If your start date falls later, we reissue your written quote at current prices before work begins.
Payment Schedule
The payment schedule is 25% when you sign your contract and the remaining 75% after the final walkthrough. Your contract shows the amount due at each stage.
- Your deposit secures your start date and orders your materials.
- No payment is collected during the work unless you sign a change order that adds to it.
- Your last payment waits for your final walkthrough. We finish the work, clean the site, walk through it with you, and leave written aftercare instructions before you pay the balance.
Changes and Cancellation
- A change to your work needs a written change order you approve before that work starts. It states the added or changed work, the new price, and any change to your schedule. A change in scope is never approved by phone or in person alone.
- If you cancel before your materials are ordered, your deposit is refunded in full. Once materials are ordered, a cancellation fee covers what was already bought. Your contract lists those materials and their cost, and we tell you when ordering happens.
Your Workmanship Warranty
- Every installation has a written 3-year workmanship warranty. It covers settling or shifting caused by base preparation, joint or bedding-sand failure caused by how the work was installed, and drainage that underperforms when the drainage design was part of your contract.
- It does not cover normal surface wear, routine top-up of polymeric sand, damage from tree roots, or damage from changes made to the finished work.
- Manufacturer warranties on pavers, wall blocks, and drainage products are separate. We pass them to you when your work is complete.
- Your warranty applies to the original installation address and does not transfer to a new owner.

Your Account
- You sign in with a link we email you. Each link works once and expires 15 minutes after it is sent. Anyone who can open your email can sign in, so keep your email account secure.
- Give accurate details. We prepare for your onsite visit from the address and project details you enter.
Using This Website
- Keep the website working for everyone. Do not send false bookings, automated requests, or anything that disrupts the website.
Privacy and Law
- Your personal information is handled under Canada's PIPEDA privacy law. See Privacy Policy.
- Ontario law governs these terms, along with the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page is the date of the latest change. A change never alters a contract you have already signed.
